"The Tsar's Garden" Multifunctional complex. Such will be the view onto the complex from Vodootvodny channel side.
Construction of the first underground floor structures, Building 3 of the Complex.
 |
Using the "know-how" by Pavel B. Yurkevich under extremely complicated geological, hydrogeological and urban development conditions all the three complex buildings are being constructed, layout size is about 220x47 m incorporating a four-level underground area. From technical viewpoint, this building under construction is one of the most complicated in Russia.
We have developed on this site general complex construction organizing scheme and special construction methods; our company provides a complete design for all building structures and zero cycle waterproofing of Buildings 1 and 3. The external consolidation of neighboring buildings' foundations, a horizontal jet-grouting curtain, enclosure, support and waterproofing of through-going communications channel have been projected and executed as well. Under the supervision of Pavel B. Yurkevich basic solutions for waterproofing of service roofings of the buildings were developed.
"The Tsar's Garden" Multifunctional complex construction commenced in April 1998, Building 1 was completed in November 2000. In spring 2001 the problems of construction financing have emerged and in June of the same year the construction of the Complex Buildings 3 and 2 was frozen sine die.

Basic technical solutions:
Consolidation of foundation of im- portant historic buildings - soil-grout reinforced columns, 80 cm in diameter, executed by "jet-grouting" method;
Permanent pit enclosure - in-situ re- inforced concrete diaphragm walls, 80 cm thick, gross area - 10265 m2 with keyed joints between panels by Italian technology;
Temporary pits enclosure - in-situ diaphragm walls of lean concrete, 60 cm thickness, reinforced by reinforce- ment cages of high rigidity ("know-how" by Pavel B. Yurkevich, for the first time used in Russia);
Enclosure of through-going com- munications channel - with no temporary support made of soil-grout reinforced vertical and anchor inclined columns made by technology "jet-grouting" (for the first time used in Russia);
Intermediate props - in-situ reinfor- ced concrete permanent bored columns 72/120 cm in diameter executed with pinpoint accuracy and high load-bearing capacity ("know-how" by Pavel B. Yurkevich, for the first time used in Russia and has no analogous appli- cation elsewhere in the world);
Horizontal jet-grouting curtain area exceeding 1500 m2 - made of secant soil-grouting columns by "jet-grouting" technology (for the first time success- fully applied in Russia and is one of the deepest in Europe);
Combination of construction met- hods: simultaneous construction of underground floors of the buildings by "top-down" technique and superstruc- ture sections without limitations - by "down-top" technique with hanging of lift shafts and stairwells ("know-how" by Pavel B. Yurkevich, for the first time applied in Russia);
Method of concreting of undergro- und floor slabs - formworks resting on plastic soils, dried up by soil drainage and strengthened by tamping in crushed limestone (suggested by Pavel B. Yurkevich and applied for the first time in Russia);
Waterproofing of "zero cycles" - using geosynthetics with safety drai- nage layer and a sectional sealing system for most vulnerable units (suggested by Pavel B. Yurkevich and applied for the first time in Russia).
